Navratri, the nine days when India and Indian souls across the world are charged with spiritual favour is a time for worship, festivities, fasting and spiritual enhancement. In Gujarat, Navaratri is a grand community event where apart from the ritual, people gather in large number at community grounds to perform the traditional dances of Dandiya and do fasting for nine days at home..
All over India, navratri is a busy time for women. Especially, they have multiple dimensions to handle from the pujas and religious activities to social gatherings and of course fasting too! Like feasting, fasting is an art too.
While fasting properly is a great way to cleanse your body and tone your soul, doing it wrong can make you overweight, dehydrate, tired or irritable.
So, we guide you to give fasting food lists, which will ensure that you stick to all the religious guidelines while still supplying your body the required energy and nutrition to go about its activities well-balanced / healthy.
The foods are:
Sabudana, singhara, kuttu, rajgera, maurayo, cumin seeds, black pepper, rock salt, ginger, green chilli, lemon, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander seeds, coriander leaves, mint leaves, curry leaves, aloo, sweet potato, tomatoes, lauki, carrot, beetroot, milk and milk products, and of Couse fruits also.
Here are the some food items which you can preferred during fasting:
Sabudanakhichdi, kuttukadosa, aloo curry, rajgera curry, maurayo rice, banana shake, lauki juice, roasted makhana, makhanipaneer balls, Farali dhokla, sweet potato kheer, apple kheer, beetroot halwa, and green chutney.
These all food items are healthy for all people who are on fasting. It also helps to control your satiety and give enough nutrition and energy to the body.
When you are outside try to drink maximum water intake and have some fruits also to stay hydrated.
Those who don’t wish to fast may follow a vegetarian satvik diet. According to this season satvik food is much helpful to stay healthy.
